Fall is here and that means it's time for the big event in Parke County Indiana, the Covered Bridge Festival. Did you know that the festival began in 1957, when a group of local women decided to hold a three-day festival to accommodate the many interested tourists looking for information about the bridges. Now the festival see's over 2 million people visit Parke county. I currently have 28 pieces at the Covered Bridge Art Gallery in Rockville. Come up and see all the work in the gallery and then take in the rest of one of the largest festivals in Indiana! The festival opens this Friday, Oct. 11th, and runs for 10 days.
On November 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, the Delphi Opera House and the Opera House Gallery will be hosting the Delphi Invitational Art Show. I am one of the artists who have been ask to participate in this fine art exhibition and sale. The Art Show will be held in the beautifully restored historic Delphi Opera House. Since the reopening in 2015, both the visual and performing arts have been showcased. To enhance the artistic experience for the public, two performances will take place on the Opera House Stage. On November 7th the 121st Annual Richmond Art Museum juried art exhibit opens. In conjunction with this exhibit the Richmond Art Museum is having it's "Holiday Squares" show. All the work in the holiday squares show is 8x8 inches or smaller. I have two pieces in this show which runs from November 7th to Jan 4th 2020. If your over on the east part of Indiana check this show out. The RAM museum is newly remodeled and is beautiful.
Lastly, for local friends and patrons, this Friday, Oct 11th, the Link Gallery in Paris Illinois will open it's 65th Annual Fall Juried Exhibition. I have 3 pieces entered into this show two of which received awards. The reception for this show is from 5-6:30pm on Oct 18th. The show runs until November 15. This show has artists from a 100 mile radius. The painting at the top of this newsletter, "Dump and Run till Dark" is entered into that show and took a merit award!
