Indiana Waterways: The Art of Conservation

** SOLD OUT**
The Indiana Waterways project is the brainchild of five Hoosier artists, borne of a desire to capture, in art and words, the growing urgency of catastrophic environment inattention. I was fortunate enough to be included as one of the artists featured in this book. I painted waterways as grand as the mighty Ohio on the southern border of Indiana to beautiful Sugar Creek of the county I live in.
Many of Indiana's 65,000 miles of rivers, streams and tributaries are ranked among the most contaminated in the United States and unfit for human contact. The catfish in Sugar Creek, from where I painted, are recommended to be consumed only once every 2 months!
Myself along with 4 other artists have put together 100 paintings (20 from each artist) as the centerpiece of this book. The book strives to marry words (there are 3 essayists who were invited to be part of the project) and art, drawing attention to the need for increased conservation and restoration of our Indiana waterways.
The book is a limited edition of 500 copies, all signed and numbered by each of the artists and essayists. Cost is $50, plus $8 for shipping. The book is 10"x10", 227 pages and is hardcover.
The paintings in this book will be in a traveling exhibit running through the end of 2023. In the spring of 2024 all 100 of the paintings will be auctioned off. The exhibit schedule for the traveling show is below:
